Social Campaign + Poster Design
Southern Research is an organization committed to solving tough problems. For example, they were the only scientists to study the 2017 solar eclipse by following it in a NASA aircraft. As a nonprofit they rely on donations, and they started the Change Campaign to raise money for three initiatives: green technologies, drug development for neurological diseases and mental health disorders, and cancer drug discovery.
The Change Campaign seeks to increase fundraising by creating a little friendly competition. People become “change agents” by pledging to an initiative, then leveraging their social networks to raise as much money as possible. Rather than touting Southern Research accomplishments, we launched the campaign by setting out to show how their work benefits humankind. A visual strategy aims to simplify complicated scientific work through an interaction between dots, shapes, and collage-style images, and an aspirational tone puts people at the center.
